InterpretOmics India Raises $1.6M in Angel Funding

According to multiple reports, InterpretOmics India Pvt Ltd, a Bangalore, India-based Big Data bioinformatics startup, raised Rs10crore (approximately $1.6m) in angel funding.

Backers included Singapore-based shipping company Amarante and two undisclosed local investors.

The company intends to use the capital to expand its product development, research and marketing efforts.

Founded in 2009 by CEO Prahalad H. Achutharao and CSO Asoke Talukder, InterpretOmics provides iOMICS, a cloud-based software platform for aggregating and structuring genomics and biomedical data, as well as GoHealthyGo, a predictive, preventive, personalized, participatory, precision and pervasive healthcare platform that integrates genetic, medical, and behavioral knowledge for individuals, physicians, enterprises, and institutions that are committed to deliver preventive healthcare.
