Apsalar Raises $9M Series B Funding

Apsalar, a San Francisco, CA-based a mobile advertising and analytics company, raised a $9m Series B funding.

The round was led by DCM, with participation from Correlation Ventures and existing investors Thomvest Ventures and DN Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to hire new people across all departments, improve the technology and expand marketing and sales programs.

Founded in 2010 by Michael Oiknine, CEO, Apsalar provides a mobile Demand-Side Platform (DSP), which helps mobile app marketers and agencies buy high-ROI mobile ads for their apps across over 70 networks and real-time bidding (RTB) exchanges. It also provides free mobile analytics for marketers.

The company had raised a $5m Series A round in September 2011 (read here), and less than $1m in seed funding from 500 Startups, Morado Ventures, the Seraph Group and individual investor Mark Goines.
