Treasure Data, a cloud-based analytics service, closed a $5m Series A financing.
The round was led by Sierra Ventures.
The company intends to use the capital to fund the global expansion of its operations. In conjunction with the funding, Tim Guleri, Managing Director of Sierra Ventures, will join Treasure Data’s Board of Directors.
Led by Hiro Yoshikawa, CEO, and Kaz Ohta, CTO, Treasure Data has developed a big data analytics platform that combines open source software and distributed systems technology to provide a scalable service that allows businesses to get real time value from their big data.
The solution is used by social commerce startups, online gaming and Fortune 100 companies including SalesForce.com, MobFox, GetJar and Wish.com.
