Soma, a San Francisco, CA-based developer of an innovative water filter service, raised $3.7m in seed funding.
The round was led by Baseline Ventures and Forerunner Ventures, with participation from Cowboy Ventures, Collaborative Fund and Lerer Ventures, among others.
The company intends to use the funds to build the team and expand marketing and development efforts.
Led by CEO and co-founder Mike Del Ponte, Soma will offer a water filter service that includes a glass carafe and an innovative water filters, which are delivered to home via a subscription model. Sales will open in September.
In 2012, the company had raised $150k via Kickstarter and a $1.2m seed round.
