Outbox Raises $5M in Series A Funding

Outbox, an Austin, Texas- and San Francisco, CA-based provider of a service that digitizes users’ postal mail and then makes it available online, raised $5m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Floodgate with participation from Founders Fund, Correlation Ventures, TDF Ventures, WTI, Expansion VC, and Peterson Ventures, and other angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to hire developers and designers (read here), as well as to open services in the Bay Area and continue to expand.

Founded in 2011 by Evan Baehr and Will Davis, Outbox collects and manages postal mail on users’ behalf, then digitizes the content and makes it available online and on mobile. It discards junk mail and enables subscribers (of the $4.99 monthly service) to organize and prioritize mail.
