Life360 Raises $10M in Series B Funding

Life360, a San Francisco, Calif.-based provider of a location and communication app for families, raised $10m in Series B funding.

The round was led by DCM, with participation from existing investors.

The company intends to use the funds for product enhancements (and integration with partners in the home security and automotive sectors), distribution and the localization of its app for international markets,

Founded in 2008 by Chris Hulls, CEO, Life360 provides a free app for iOS and Android that uses location-based technology to allows users to stay connected throughout the day via a private map and chat stream, regular check-ins, and panic alerts. Earlier this year, the company added Places”, a geo-fencing feature that allows users to designate their favorite locations and receive automatic alerts when family members arrive and a Premium product, which provides access to a 24/7 Live Advisor, roadside assistance, unlimited use of Places, expanded location history, $100 in stolen phone protection, and location lookups for non-smartphones. Users can sign up for at $4.99 per month or $50 per year.
