CoContest, a Rome, Italy-based crowdsourcing platform dedicated to interior design, raised $200k in seed funding.
The round was led by LVenture, with participation from two unnamed angel investors. In addition, the company was selected for the 7th batch of Startup Chile, in which it will receive $40k in non-equity funding.
The company will use the funds to improve the service, expand business operations including opening an office in NYC, the world capital of design, in the next months.
Co-founded by brothers Federico and Filippo Schiano di Pepe, CoContest is an online platform that allows users to launch competitions among interior designers to get projects for renovating their houses. The service, which is described its founders as “a place where everyone in need of interior design projects can easily get them” aims to offer a win-win-win experience for:
– clients to get several interior design ideas by designers from all over the world, at an affordable price;
– designers to find new clients and advertise their talent;
– real estate companies to show their clients how an apartment will look following a renovation project.
