Bigcommerce Receives $40M Investment from Revolution Growth

Bigcommerce, an Austin, TX-based e-commerce platform for businesses, received a new investment from Revolution Growth.

The amont of the deal was not disclosed reports said it could be $40m. In conjunction with it, Steve Case, co-founder of the Revolution Growth fund, will join Bigcommerce’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to build out its platform, adding new features and capabilities, as well to invest in brand and awareness building to expand into new vertical and international markets.

Launched in 2009 by Eddie Machaalani and Mitchell Harper, Bigcommerce is a software as a service (SaaS) e-commerce platform that allows companies to create online stores, market their businesses and build brands.
Existing clients Gibson Guitar, Zaggora.com, YETI Coolers, among 35,000 other businesses.
