Scripted.com Raises $4.5M in Series A Financing

Scripted.com, a San Francisco-based marketplace for businesses to create content, raised $4.5m in Series A financing.

The round was led by Crosslink Capital and Redpoint Ventures, with participation from James Currier and Stan Chudnovsky from Ooga Labs, Branchout CEO Rick Marini, Bebo co-founder Michael Birch, Military.com co-founder Chris Michel and LA angel investor Paige Craig. In conjunction with the funding, Chris Moore from Redpoint Ventures and Eric Chin from Crosslink Capital will be joining Scripted.com’s board.

Founded in 2011 and led by Sunil Rajaraman, CEO, Scripted.com is a marketplace for businesses to hire freelance writers. The company, which has a user-base of more than 80,000 writers located in every state in the U.S. as well as more than 50 nations around the world and over 1,000 customers ranging from small businesses to large enterprises (Verisign, Intuit, Levi’s), specializes in writing blog posts, press releases, social media posts, white papers, e-books and case studies for its clients.
