ProxToMe Raises $700K in Funding

According to Il Sole 24 Ore (read here), ProxToMe, an Italian startup that provides an app to discover people nearby and share digital content in real-time, raised $700k in funding.

Backers included angels from angel network Iag (Italian Angels for Growth) and other Italy- and Silicon Valley-based private investors.

Led by CEO Carlo Capello and CTO Andrea Motto, ProxToMe aims to help users discover people nearby and share digital content with them in real-time leveraging a proprietary “proximity engine”.
Features allow people to discover facebook profiles of nearby ProxToMe users, engage with them in chat, share digital content from Dropbox and add contacts and interact with them offsite.
Organizers can distribute content during their events setting up content and date, view the analytics and interact with contacts.
The app is available for iPhone and Android.

The company has offices in Italy and USA.
