Intesa Sanpaolo Start-Up Initiative, the platform for startups from Italian banking group Intesa Sanpaolo, and Wayra, Telefónica’s global startup accelerator, have teamed up to nurture and help grow innovation ecosystems in Europe and Latin America.
The partnership aims to co-operate to find synergies to support the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, share deal flows in relevant technology areas, extend mentoring, acceleration services, business development, international expansion and investors reach for the top startups from both programs in their relevant territories.
Under the terms of the agreement, Wayra startups will be included into Intesa Sanpaolo Start-Up Initiative (SUI) Arenas and, viceversa, SUI startups will be included into future Wayra acceleration batches. The two initiatives will organize co-branded events and joint early stage and later stage investment forums.
In the video below, Gonzalo Martín-Villa, CEO of Wayra, and Marco Lattuada, Head of Telecom & Media Intesa Sanpaolo, share some insights about the agreement.
