Crest Optics Raises €400K in Equity Funding

Crest Optics, a Rome, Italy-based bioscience startup, raised €400k in equity funding.

Backers included Filas and Aldabra Capital, which will acquire a 35% stake in Crest Optics.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerare the continue to commercialize X-light and complimentary products and develop further systems, through Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia.

Founded by President Vincenzo Ricco, Crest Optics uses optical and electrooptical technology to develop instruments for scientific and industrial applications. Key target areas are: fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy.
It is a subsidiary of Crisel Instruments, which specializes in providing live cell imaging systems in the Italian market.
