CloudByte Raises $4M in Series B Funding

CloudByte, a Campbell, Calif.-based cloud service provider, raised $4m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Fidelity Growth Partners India, with participation from existing investors Nexus Venture Partners and Kae Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Raul Rai, managing director with Fidelity Growth Partners India, joined CloudByte’s board.

The company, which has now raised $6.1 million in total funding, having closed a $2.1 million Series A round in June 2012 (read here), intends to use the funds to expand global sales and marketing in addition to product development.

Led by CEO Greg Goelz, CloudByte provides a service that allows providers and enterprises to build private clouds to host performance applications.
Its ElastiStor has been verified to work with technology platforms including VMware ESXi, Citrix XenServer, and Citrix CloudPlatform, and is now integrated with OpenStack block storage Cinder.
