WibiData Raises $15M in Series B Funding

WibiData, a San Francisco, CA-based Big Data application company, raised $15m in a Series B funding.

The round was led by Canaan Partners, with participation from existing investors New Enterprise Associates and Google Chairman Eric Schmidt. In conjunction with the investment, Canaan Partners’ Ross Fubini joined WibiData’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to hire new people and continue to build the technology.

Founded by CEO Christophe Bisciglia and Aaron Kimball, WibiData provides a big data analysis platform to create real time personalized applications, based on the open source Kiji Project.
Customers include Opower, Mobile Posse and Atlassian, among others.
