Varthana, a Bangalore, India-based provider of loans and support to affordable private schools, raised a funding of undisclosed amount.
Venture Lab, Accion‘s $10m seed capital initiative, which invests in start-up companies that help expand global financial inclusion, provided the money.
Co-founded by Steve Hardgrave and Brajesh Mishra, Varthana provides affordable private schools with loans to build, renovate, and add infrastructure including libraries, playgrounds, labs, smart classes, teacher training programs and school buses.
