MindMixer Closes $4M Funding

MindMixer, an Omaha, Nebraska-based online engagement platform for civic, education and healthcare organizations, closed a $4m funding round.

The round was led by Nelnet (NYSE: NNI), a provider of education products and services, with participation from existing investors Dundee Venture Capital and Optimas Group.

The company intends to use the capital to hire developers (read here), enhance its suite of services and tools and expand operations.

Founded in 2010 and led by CEO Nick Bowden, MindMixer provides online community engagement and social media intelligence tools that allow organizations to connect with community members.
It serves customers in the educational, healthcare and civic sectors. Current clients include the City of San Francisco, the D.C. public school district, Ohio State University and Coursera.
