EdgeSpring Raises $11M

EdgeSpring, a San Mateo, CA-based provider of a business intelligence and analytics platform, raised $11m including $9m in Series A financing.

Backers included Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Lightspeed Ventures.

Led by Vijay Chakravarthy, founder and CEO, EdgeSpring leverages data store EdgeMart and dynamic visualization engine Lens Framework to provide customers with a Big Data analytics platform to ask and answer first and second order questions across structured and semi-structured data and drive timely decisions.
Customers include AppSense, Demandbase, Docusign, EllieMae, Equinix, Hara, HighWire, IntacctLithium, Neustar, Pandora, SpruceMedia, and Xactly, among others.

To showcase the platform, the company has developed CrunchEdge, which aims to explore Crunchbase. It will be made publicly available at the beginning of June.
