Coda Payments, a Singapore-based only payments company, raised funding from Venture Lab.
Venture Lab is Accion‘s $10m seed capital initiative, which invests in start-up companies that help expand global financial inclusion.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Currently operating in Indonesia, Coda Payments has built a transaction-processing platform that enables merchants to allow their customers to buy goods and services using prepaid mobile accounts, giving people who lack access to credit or debit cards a way to purchase digital goods, including e-content, job listings, information services and microinsurance policies.
The company is led by Neil Davidson, CEO, Paul Leishman, COO, and Bobby Choi, CTO.
