VideoCare Raises Seed Equity Funding

VideoCare, Inc., a Menlo Park, CA-based developer of cloud-managed remote senior care technology, raised a seed equity funding of undisclosed amount.

Backers included Aphelion Capital and California Technology Ventures.

The company intends to use the funding to expand with partners in senior care markets, including non-medical home care, home health care, and facility care.

Led by David Trescot, CEO, VideoCare has developed a system that allows remote caregivers (both family members and professionals) to provide face-to-face support and companionship to seniors. All management of the system is handled remotely by the caregiver via the web and remote medical staff can track vital statistics from connected wireless medical devices. It also acts as an entertainment hub, giving elderly users access to photos, videos, and music.
VideoCare has already partnered with over two dozen providers in these markets since the company was officially announced in November of 2012.
