PresenceLearning, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of online speech and occupational therapy services for K-12 students, raised $8m in funding.
The round was led by New Markets Venture Partners and Blue Heron Capital with participation from Birchmere Ventures and existing investors Catamount Ventures, Calvert Funds, and Allen & Company. In conjunction with the funding, Mike Dan, an Operating Advisor at Blue Heron Capital, will be joining PresenceLearning’s board.
The company intends to use the capital to continue to grow its online therapy services, as well as to expand development into new products and offerings for the special education market.
Led by co-CEOs Jack Lynch and Clay Whitehead, PresenceLearning provides school districts with web-based access to a nationwide network of qualified speech language pathologists (SLPs), counselors, and occupational therapists (OTs) via live video conferencing combined with innovative practices and progress reporting.
