Pevesa Biotech Raises €1.6M in Funding

Pevesa Biotech, a Seville, Spain-based biotechnology company, raised €1.6m in funding.

Backers include la Caixa Capital Risc, which invested via Caixa Innvierte Industria, and existing investors SuanFarma Biotech and Milar Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its production facility and its sales force.

Founded in 1996 and led by Iñaki Mielgo, Pevesa focuses on working with proteins to obtain Isolate, hydrolisates, peptides and amino acids and develops custom made products in food, nutraceutical, fermentations, cosmetic and bio agriculture sectors.

The company currently employs 17 people with a turnover of €2.3m.
