Nitrous.IO Raises $1M

According to the company’s blog (read here), Action.IO, a San Francisco, CA- and Singapore-based cloud-based development environment platform, changed its name in Nitrous.IO and raised $1m in funding.

According to TechCrunch (read here), the round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners with participation from Draper Associates, CrunchFund, 500 Startups, TIBCO Software, Eduardo Saverin, Golden Gate Ventures, and Prosper Nwankpa.

The company intends to use the funds to to expand its current team with generalist and dev ops engineers (read here) to continue to build and improve Nitrous.IO.

Led by Arun Thampi, Peter Jihoon Ki and AJ Solimine, Nitrous.IO provides a cloud-based platform to set up development environments and code with no installation needed. It allows indie developers, designers, and small and large organizations to collaborate on their projects in real-time, deploy to production servers, and to version dev environments with ease.
