Foundation Capital Closes Seventh Fund at $282M

Menlo Park, CA-based venture capital firm Foundation Capital closed its seventh fund at $282m.

Foundation Capital Fund VII will focus on supporting early-stage companies in the consumer internet, information technology and cleantech sectors.

Led by Paul Holland, Anamitra Banerji, William Elmore, Ashu Garg, Paul Holland, Charles Moldow, Ashmeet Sidana, Steve Vassallo and Warren Weiss, Fund VII will be invested over a three-year investment period.

Founded in 1995 by Bill Elmore, Kathryn Gould, and Jim Anderson, Foundation Capital has invested in more than 80 high-growth ventures in the areas of consumer, information technology, software, semiconductors, and clean technology including BoardVantage, Chegg, Coverity, Lending Club, MobileIron, Simply Hired, Sunrun, TubeMogul and Venafi.
Initial public offerings include Envestnet, Financial Engines, Netflix, NetZero, Responsys and Silver Spring Networks.
