Unisense FertiliTech Receives $20M Equity Investment from the Danish Pension Fund

Unisense FertiliTech A/S, a Danish medtech company,  received a $20m equity investment from the Danish Pension Fund (PKA).

Following the purchase of new and existing shares in the company, PKA owns 25% of Unisense FertiliTech.

The company intends to use the proceeds to accelerate the global expansion of sales of its existing and new products.

Founded in 2003 and led by CEO Jens Gundersen Unisense FertiliTech develops and manufactures products to improve treatment in the field of assisted reproduction. The current products include the EmbryoScope® Time-lapse system, the EmbryoViewer® Software and related accessory products, which are EU approved and FDA cleared for clinical use in IVF laboratories.
In addition to its hardware and software product offerings, The company, which operates in more than 30 countries worldwide, has a pipeline of products under development which hold commercial potential within the IVF industry. FertiliTech is involved in international collaborations to develop embryo assessment algorithms to improve embryo selection and workflow in the assisted reproduction laboratory.
