LockerDome Completes $6M Series A Funding

LockerDome, a St. Louis, MO-based sports social media-publishing platform, completed a $6m Series A funding round.

The round was led by Cultivation Capital Growth Fund, with participation from the St. Louis Cardinals President William DeWitt III and other members of the St. Louis Cardinals ownership group, including Chris Pronger, a member of the Milwaukee Brewers ownership group, among others.

The company intends to use the capital to support their growth and continue to expand into the sports market.

Led by Gabe Lozano, co-founder and CEO, LockerDome is an online sports property that provides athletes, fans, parents, and coaches with content and tools to interact with people around sports interests.
The platform has more than 1,500 “networks” of professional athletes, brands, media personalities and other sports properties.
Official brands and networks represented by LockerDome include Troy Polamalu, Larry Fitzgerald, Maurice Jones-Drew, Antonio Brown and Marshawn Lynch (NFL); Felix Hernandez (MLB); and Blake Griffin, Rudy Gay, David Lee and Stephen Curry (NBA), among others.

The company recently partnered with USA TODAY Sports Digital Properties. As part of agreement USA Today has begun selling advertising on LockerDome, and LockerDome’s traffic is now included within the USA Today Sports Properties network.

Cliff Holekamp, Partner at Cultivation Capital Growth Fund and Jim McKelvey, co-founder of Square, are members of the company’s Board of Directors.
