Acoustic Sensing Technology Raises £650K in Equity Funding

Acoustic Sensing Technology (UK) Ltd, a Sci-Tech Daresbury, UK-based developer of an acoustic technology product that assesses the condition of sewer pipes, raised £650k in equity funding.

The investment was made by the North West Fund for Energy & Environmental, which is managed by CT Investment Partners.

A University of Bradford spinout, Acoustic Sensing Technology has developed a new product named SewerBatt™, which is a low cost acoustic technology product that assesses the condition of sewer pipes. The product was developed by a research team at the University of Bradford, led by Professor Kirill Horoshenkov and Professor Simon Tait.

The company intends to use the capital to create and manufacture the SewerBatt™ and sell it to water companies and contractors in developed parts of the world such as Australia, America and various parts of Europe.

Acoustic Sensing Technology is led by chief executive Nick Hawkins and director of technology Richard Long.
