WSO2 Closes $10M Funding

WSO2, Palo Alto, Calif.-based lean enterprise middleware company, closed a $10m funding.

The round was led by Toba Capital, with participation from Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) and Intel Capital. With the investment, Tyler Jewell, CEO of Codenvy and representing Toba Capital, joined WSO2’s board as an observer. In addition, TIBCO co-founder John Mathon joined as vice president of product marketing.

The company intends to use the capital to expand its global operations and grow its marketing, sales and support teams in the United States and Europe.

Founded in August 2005 by Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana, CEO, WSO2 provides a cloud and enterprise middleware solution that supports today’s heterogeneous enterprise environments, internally and in the cloud. The company’s products address the core components of SOA: service creation (Application Server, Web Services Frameworks, Data Services Solution), connection (Enterprise Service Bus), composition (Mashup Server, Business Process Server) and governance (Registry, Identity Solution).
