Timbre, a location-based music discovery app that allows music lovers to find live bands, raised $360k in seed funding.
Backers included Atlas Venture, Boston Seed Capital and Bantam Group.
The company intends to use the capital for further development and commercialization of the app.
Led by Mark Kasdorf, CEO, Timbre has developed a free app that provides a display of concerts that are playing at nearby locations and enables users to listen to music samples from the bands, purchase songs on iTunes, and buy tickets to shows all.
It has been localized in 22 languages and is now free to download in 36 countries, including Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, France, Germany and Japan.
