Mytonomy Secures Funding

Mytonomy, a Chevy Chase, a MD-based video storytelling platform for college & career advising, secured an undisclosed amount of funding.

Backers included Kapor Capital and NewSchools Venture Fund.

Led by Vinay Bhargava, CEO & Co-Founder, Mytonomy is a near-peer mentoring platform for college and career, which features a video-based social network, with a special focus on First Generation college students and students studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields.
Students can freely watch videos, getting advice on various topics related to high school, the college application process, and specific colleges, majors, and careers.
School districts can upgrade to a paid premium version, Mytonomy Plus, to deliver video playlists to their student bodies in a private (logged-in) environment, with analytics. “Which student watched what video” and curriculum features will be launched soon. Early adopters of Mytonomy Plus include KIPP DC, The Lab School of Washington, and Yongsan International School of Seoul (Korea).
