LocalResponse Raises $1.5M in Funding

LocalResponse, a NYC-based provider of a platform that helps marketers respond to “real-time consumer intent”, raised $1.5m in funding.

Backers included Cava Capital, Extreme Venture Partners, Verizon, WIN, and Advancit Capital.

Co-founded by Nihal Mehta, Kathy Leake, and Michael Muse, LocalResponse provides a social advertising platform that aggregates public posts (a Tweet, a status update on Facebook, etc.), photos (on Instagram), or checkins (e.g. Foursquare) to allow brands and businesses to identify intent and respond to it.
Customers include Audi, Cadbury-Adams, Coca-Cola, Dell, Estee Lauder, FedEx, General Electric, General Mills, General Motors, Hersheys, Kmart, Loews, McDonald’s, Microsoft, NBC-Universal, Pepsi, Verizon, and Walgreens.
