Taskhub Receives Funding from Telefónica Ventures

Taskhub, a London, UK-based startup that operates a task outsourcing service, has received a six-figure venture funding from Telefónica Ventures.

The exact amount of the deal is undisclosed.

Founded by CEO Rahul Ahuja, Taskhub is a collaborative platform that connects users who post a job/task (such as cleaning windows or terraces, help to make a video, adjust bikes, etc.) and neighbours (individuals or small businesses) who want to execute those tasks.
The platform includes its own payments and user authentication services.
With the investment, which was made as a part of  the acceleator Wayra, Taskhub will be integrated into Telefónica’s location-based mobile business later this year.

Created in Latin America in April 2011, Wayra backs projects with financing (in exchange for a 10% share), access to Telefónica resources (including management and technical expertise) and a place to work.

Wayra, which means ‘wind’ in Quechua, was born with the aim of becoming an accelerator for the development of future Silicon Valleys in the countries where Telefónica is present.
