Extole, a San Francisco and NYC-based social advocacy platform, closed an additional $7.6m in funding.
Backers in the round, which brings the total amount raised by the company to date to $29.6m, included existing investors Shasta Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures and Trident Capital.
The company intends to use the capital to accelerate product and platform investments.
Led by Michael Bigby, Chief Executive Officer, Extole provides a social advocacy platform which leverages word of mouth (WOM) marketing to help brands and agencies engage consumers across all touch points including a website, email and social networks like Facebook.
Customers include Travel Channel, Zazzle, eHarmony, Spotify, Cache, Seventh Generation, HSN Improvements, T-Mobile, Shutterfly, Redbox, SkyMall, Seamless, etc.
