Dogfish Accelerator has launched its program for film producers.
Co-founded by CEO James Belfer and managing director Michelle Soffen of Dogfish Pictures, Dogfish Accelerator aims to support production teams who are looking to develop their business model prior to the investment phase of a film. It will provide them with a combination of US$18k in seed funding, free office space, business training, coaching and access to a large network of resources and vendor perks.
The accelerator program will be funded by the Dogfish Pictures Film Fund II, which will be launched later this year, A portion of the new vehicle will provide follow-on equity financing to teams that complete the program.
The first class will take place in summer 2013 in New York City. The accelerator is now accepting submissions.
