Distil, Inc., an Arlington, VA-based Content Protection Network that helps companies identify and block malicious content scraping and data theft, has raised vc funding from Piedmont RIA.
The investment, whose amount was not disclosed, was made by Militello Capital.
Led by Rami Essaid, CEO, Distil operates a cloud website Content Protection Network (CPN) that distinguishes human visitors from malicious bots to provide protection safeguarding commercial and individual producers. The platform is designed to mitigate against duplicate content, improve SEO rank, and accelerate the end-user experience while reducing server load and infrastructure demand.
The company, a Techstars’ graduate (April 2012), previously received funding from CIT GAP Funds (read here) and Idea Fund Partners.
