Digit Game Studios Closes US$2.5M Series A Funding

Digit Game Studios, a Dublin, Ireland-based games developer, closed a US$2.5m Series A funding.

The round was led by Delta Partners, which invested US$2.1m from its Delta Equity Fund III Limited Partnership, with participation from other existing investor ACT Venture Capital.

The company will use the capital to double the size of its workforce with the creation of 25 new jobs in Dublin.

Founded in early 2012 and led by Richard Barnwell, CEO, and Martin Frain, CMO, Digit has been developing Kings of the Realm (KotR), a massively multiplayer strategy game that works across any connected device, an approach they call “Seamlessly Cross-Platform”. It is due out later this year, along with the first book in a series from Penguin.

This funding brings the total amount raised by the company to US$3.75m with both Delta and ACT previously investing in the seed round.
