ChaCha Raises $14M in Funding

ChaCha, a Carmel, Indiana-based, human-powered Q&A site, raised $14m in funding.

The round was led by investors VantagePoint Capital Partners and Rho Ventures.

The company intends to use the capital to invest in new products and expand its mobile and online experiences for both users and advertisers. To expand its product base, ChaCha recently launched Social Reactor, a social engagement platform that provides advertisers with access to more than 270 million engaged followers of social influencers and celebrities across social channels including Twitter, Tumblr and others.

Led by Scott Jones, CEO, the company operates a free real-time Q&A platform, which has answered over 2 billion questions since launch from more than 40 million unique users per month via online (ChaCha.com), iPhone app, Android app, mobile text (242-242), and voice (1-800-2-ChaCha™).
Online, consumer packaged goods, entertainment, automotive and media brands among others have already worked with the platform.

ChaCha also has offices in New York City, San Francisco, and is opening in Los Angeles.
