Search start-up Adzuna.co.uk has acquired the traffic of Oodle.co.uk.
Founded in 2005 by former Excite executives, Oodle is a marketplace where users buy, sell, and give with friends, friends of friends, neighbors, co-workers, and other people in their local community. Following the agreeement, the company will continue to operate its classified business in the United States while all Oodle.co.uk users in job, property, and car categories will be redirected to the Adzuna site. Users in other categories such as pets and boats will be forwarded to Mobiya.co.uk.
Launched in 2011 by Andrew Hunter and Doug Monro, Adzuna.co.uk is a search engine for classified ads which is designed to make it easier for users to find jobs, properties, or cars. It currently has over 2 million live classified listings. The company, which is backed by venture capital firms Passion Capital, The Accelerator Group and Index Ventures, plans to significantly expand internationally in 2013.
