Mobitto Raises Funding from Cristiano Ronaldo


Mobitto, a Lisbon, Portugal-based mobile marketing startup, has raised seed funding from football star Cristiano Ronaldo.

The amount of the funding was not disclosed.

Founded in June 2011 by CEO José Simões and Diogo Teles, Mobitto provides a crowd-sourced mobile loyalty app that that rewards people for shopping. The company expects to launch versions for IOS & Android in the beginning of 2013 with other OSs to follow. Commenting on the investment, Cristiano Ronaldo said: “I am really excited to become part of this project. I absolutely believe in the potential of the mobile market and I believe that Mobitto will have a huge impact in the interactions between brands and customers in the future. We will certainly make a difference”.

Mobitto, which is a trademark owned by Mobile Hangar, is also funded by serial entrepreneur Ruben Dias.
