Medrobotics Raises $33.6M in Series D Funding

Medrobotics Corp., a Rainham, MA-based medical robotics company, has raised $33.6m in Series D funding.

Backers include existing shareholders and undisclosed new investors.

The company intends to use the capital for regulatory preparations and submissions and for anticipated commercial launches next year in Europe and the United States.

Led by Samuel Straface, Ph.D., president and CEO, Medrobotics is developing the Flex™ Robotic System, which is designed to provide surgeons with transoral single-site access and visualization in hard-to-reach locations in the throat and voice box. The robot enables two-handed dexterity with compatible third-party tools having tactile feedback.
