Eco Eridania S.p.A., an Arenzano, Genova-based service company and consultancy in the environmental sector, recently received a €14.3m equity investment.
Backers included Fondo Italiano d’Investimento, which had already invested in the company Eco Eridania in 2011 and Xenon Private Equity V.
The company used the proceeds from the investment to acquire Prato-based Team Ambiente, which was active in the special waste management sector. The operation will generate a group with 280 employees and a turnover of over €54m.
Founded by in 1988 Andrea (CEO) and Rossella Giustini, Eco Eridania manages the collection, transportation and disposal of “hazardous and non-hazardous waste”, mainly from hospitals. The company, which operates a fleet of about 100 vehicles, warehouses, and storage facilities, with sites in the North of Italy and Sardinia, plans to announce additional acquisitons soon.
