UK Business and Enterprise Minister Launches £40M Enterprise Capital Fund

Michael Fallon, the UK Business and Enterprise Minister, has announced the launch of a £40m Enterprise Capital Fund (ECF), which will focus on backing small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

Longwall Ventures ECF, which comprises £25m of Government investment and £15m from private investors, will invest in funding rounds of up to £2m to support investing in science, technology and engineering-based businesses.

It will be managed by Capital for Enterprise Limited, the Government’s investment company and run by Michael Penington, Matthew Frohn and David Denny.
