Quik.io, a Mountain View, CA-based new mobile application and service to stream and transfer media contents among their Internet connected devices, said it raised $1.28m in funding.
Backers include Enspire Capital and various angel investors.
Just launched for iPad and PC/Mac applications, Quik.io provides mobile device users with tools to access, download or share their media files on their computers through network connections ā whether by Wi-Fi from home, a hotspot or over 3G/4G. It will initially support file transfer and streaming from a PC or Mac to any iPad (at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/quikio-hd-free-for-limited/id567840021?ls=1&mt=8), with iPhone and AppleTV capabilities to follow.
Plans to include transfer among iOS devices and Android-based products are in the works.
Founded by CEO Michael Chen Xumin Wu and Budi Sutardja, the company is advised by Wen Chen and Joe Burton.
