Rebel Mouse Raises $2.5M in Seed Funding

Rebel Mouse, a NYC-based social aggregation startup, has raised $2.5m in seed funding.

Backers include:
Oak Investment Partners,
First Round Capital Partners,
John Batelle,
Chris Dixon,
Greg Coleman,
Gary Vaynerchuk,
Howard Lindzon,
Lerer Ventures, and
Jonah Peretti.

Founded in 2012 by Paul Berry, RebelMouse creates a social front page, building a dynamic site around what users share on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc., and is rolling out paid custom functions.
According to the company’s blog, it is based on the idea that people are proud of what they share on social networks, but are starting to feel embarrassed about their websites.
