Peek.com Launches with $1.4M in Seed Funding

Peek.com, a San Francisco, CA-based website for travelers to discover and book activities in a new destination, has launched its website with $1.4m in seed funding.

Backers included:
Jack Dorsey, Twitter and Square co-founder;
David Bonderman, TPG Capital Founding Partner;
Eric Schmidt, Innovations Endeavours founder and Google Executive Chairman;
Khosla Ventures; and
SV Angel.

Co-founded by CEO Ruzwana Bashir, who previously worked at Art.sy and Gilt Groupe, and CTO Oskar Bruening, the startup aims to simplify travel plan bookings. It operates a website designed to help travelers book restaurants, museum tours and other activies in a new destination, into the travel planning process, which currently lasts over 7 hours and visits 22 different websites on average (according to the company).
