Oravel, a New Delhi, India-based online marketplace for short-stay accommodation, has raised a seed funding.
The amount of the funding was not disclosed.
Backers include Shravan Shroff and Ravi Kiran, the promoters of the incubator Venture Nursery, and a group of eight angels including Anand Ladsariya, Amit Patni, and Bharat Banka.
Founded in February of 2012 by Ritesh Agarwal, and incubated in Venture Nursery, Oravel is a social marketplace for people to discover, and book accommodations around the world — online or from a phone.
According to the company’s website, the marketplace currently features over 3,500 listings across India with over 10 million more than 200 nights booked.
