NewAer Receives Investment from Intel Capital

NewAer, a Los Angeles, CA-based company that has created a mobile proximity platform, has received an investment from Intel Capital.

The amount remained undisclosed but it is known that the deal is part of a sum totalling $40m that Intel has invested in 10 companies worldwide.

Founded by CEO Dave Mathews, NeuAer provides a proximity platform that enables phones, tablets or computers to automate actions based on who or what is detected nearby
NewAer’s showcase app for Android devices, ToothTag allows users to “tag” people, places or things based on their wireless presence and set rules like automating call forwarding when leaving the home or office.
The company’s developer-focused ProxPlatform is a low power client and hosted server side engine to add presence events within mobile applications. It supports Android 2.x, iPhone & iPad iOS 5 devices, with Windows Mobile forthcoming. Developers who use the platform can use the NeuAer action engine to trigger typically disconnected social ties, or present information to users based upon proximity events.

NeuAer is currently hiring (http://www.neuaer.com/jobs.php).
