HouseTrip.com, a European holiday rental website, has raised $40m in Series C funding.
The round was led by Accel Partners, with participation from existing investors Balderton Capital and Index Ventures.
The company intends to use the capital to expand its marketplace into more territories and develop new products and services.
Launched in January 2010 by CEO Arnaud Bertrand and CFO Junjun Chen-Bertrand, HouseTrip.com provides guests with a selection of over 130,000 properties (holiday apartments, houses and villas) available in over 15,000 destinations around the world.
The company mainly focuses on Europe. It is currently hiring in its offices in Switzerland (Lusanne), in Portugal (Lisboa) and in the UK (London).
