FundersClub Closes $6M Seed Funding

FundersClub, a Palo Alto, CA-based marketplace for private investing, has closed a $6m seed funding.

Backers include:
– institutional investors First Round Capital; Y Combinator; Draper Associates; Felicis Ventures; Spark Capital; Digital Garage; Intel Capital; Y Combinator-affiliated funds (Andreessen Horowitz, Start Fund, SV Angel, and General Catalyst Partners); Investmon Sàrl; NetPrice; Global Venture Alliance (GVA) and Plug and Play Tech Center;
– individual investors Chris Dixon; Aaron Levie; Pejman Nozad; Dan RoseJack Abraham; Farzad (Zod) Nazem.

The company intends to use the capital to expand the community and the platform.

Led by Alex Mittal, CEO and co-founder, FundersClub operates an online venture capital platform that allows accredited investors to become equity holders in FundersClub-managed venture funds, which support pre-screened, private companies. It currently features early, mid and late-stage private U.S. technology companies with high growth and reputable teams from Silicon Valley and beyond.
