CourseHorse Raises $500K in Seed Financing

CourseHorse, a New York City-based startup that allows users to find and enroll in local classes, has raised $500K in seed financing.

According to reports, investors include New York Angels, NYC Seed, and Brian Cohen.

The company intends to use the capital to expand beyond New York into other metropolitan regions.

Founded in 2011 by Katie Kapler and Nihal Parthasarathi, CourseHorse operates a platform that aims to connect users with local classes in areas such as cooking, yoga, web design, music, writing, programming, etc.
It currently features 20,000 courses across 500 institutions, including those from City University of New York schools.
