Twitch (fka TwitchTV), a San Francisco, CA-based video platform and community for gamers, has raised $15m in Series B funding.
The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Alsop Louie Partners and Draper Associates.
The company intends to use the capital to expand its engineering department to continue to develop its core product, expand its global video delivery infrastructure, enhance its quality of service, and support and grow its partnership network with large game publishers and platforms.
Led by Emmett Shear, CEO, Twitch is an on-demand video platform and community for gamers who gather to broadcast, watch and chat about gaming. The company’s platform integrates in a distribution network for video game broadcasters including pro players, tournaments, leagues, developers and gaming media organizations.
